UPDATED: February 14, 2018  7:15 PM

More than four hours after Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere held a press conference, Plano City Council member Tom Harrison apologized for his controversial Facebook post.

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - There is concern and outrage after Plano City Council member Tom Harrison shared an Islamophobic post on his personal Facebook page.

"I find this Facebook post abhorrent and believe this is a stain on our city and does not represent who we are," said Mayor Harry LaRosiliere.

Three other council members joined the mayor in condemning the post, with Mayor Pro Tem Rick Grady and also calling for Harrison's resignation.

Also, the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) asked that Harrison be censured for sharing the Facebook video that questioned if President Trump should "ban Islam in American schools."

The video, from the Facebook group "Joined Hands Across America For Trump" shows pictures of students wearing hijabs in classrooms.

LaRosiliere also called on Harrison to resign but Harrison indicated to CBS 11 News on the phone he doesn't intend to.
