Perry Goes For Ice Cream After Booking On Felony Charges
AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — What's a governor to do after getting booked on felony charges? Go for ice cream.
Minutes after he was fingerprinted at the Travis County Courthouse, Texas Governor Rick Perry posted a photo Tuesday from his official Twitter account of him outside Sandy's Hamburgers in downtown Austin.
The photo shows Perry holding an ice cream cone, with his arm around an unidentified woman. His attorneys, David Botsford and Tony Buzbee, are standing nearby with their own ice cream cones.

Perry was defiant before and after being booked on two felony charges accusing him of abusing power when he vetoed money for a Travis County prosecutors' unit investigating public corruption.
Immediately after his booking Perry said, "Let me be clear it is our system of constitutional checks and balances being challenged here. This prosecution would seek to erode the power of all Texas governors, republican or democrat, to veto legislation and funding they deem inappropriate. It is a chilling restrain on the right of free speech."
Surrounded by dozens of chanting supporters, Perry called the indictment an abuse of power and said he was confident he would prevail. "I remain focused on the work of the people of this state. Doing the job I was elected to do. I will not be distracted by these baseless political charges."
