DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — A DART train struck and killed a pedestrian near downtown Dallas Saturday afternoon, officials say.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. at 800 Pacific Ave., according to DART spokesman Morgan Lyons. Witnesses say the man was walking with his head down and walked into the side of a southbound DART train. The Red Line train was pulling into West End Station.

No passengers on the train were injured. They were moved to buses and other trains to continue their trips.

DART police had shut down train service through downtown following the incident. Service resumed around 7:10 p.m.
