Parts of Dallas Sizzling After Power Line Accident Leads To Outage

DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – About 100 people are without power on this triple-digit heat day in northwest Dallas.

The area is off of Webb Chapel Road and Royal Lane, where a shopping strip and several homes are being effected.

Repair crews in the area say an 18-wheeler clipped some power lines near the shopping strip causing poles to snap and lines to come down.

The fix could take as long as 11 p.m. on Thursday.

Many business had to close early because of the extreme heat.

Tania Arceo who works at a Cash Advance store says she had to close up shop because of the unrelenting heat. "It's going to be a hundred and something so I was like I need to get out of here."

Repair crews on the scene say they are working as fast as safely possible to try and restore much needed electricity on this one of the hottest says in North Texas.
