Parents Question How Many Kids 4x's Deported Man Has Harmed
NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - For 11 years, court records show federal agents have deported Israel Andrade back to Mexico repeatedly. But so far, it appears, nothing has worked -- the criminally active man has always managed to slip back into the U.S.
CBS 11 News reporter Jack Fink spoke to her parents, who asked that they not be identified. "We're angry, mad. You want to find the guy and hurt him yourself. My daughter is afraid to go into her own bedroom at night."
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler says when they arrested Andrade, he had underwear from both the girl and the mother -- and he had the father's cell phone. The victim's mother positively identified the child's panties as being her daughter's.
According to the sheriff, Andrade had been staying with his brother a mile away from the victim. "He shouldn't have been here," the sheriff said flatly. "He came across 30 days ago, during all this influx of all these youngsters from Central America."
Court records show federal agents arrested Andrade 13 times through October, 2010. He voluntarily returned to Mexico eight times and the U.S. officially deported him four times during that period.
Prosecutors in Texas charged Andrade with illegal re-entry into the U.S., and all three times he has pleaded guilty. The longest time he's been held in federal prison for the crime is 16 months.
Most recently, Andrade was released from federal prison and deported in September 2012.
"It's time for the federal government to step up," Sheriff Fowler said. "I'm tired of it. Law enforcement across this nation is tired of it."
The incident has left the girl's parent's with questions also. "How many times is he going to be able to sneak back in? It makes you wonder how many little girls, or boys I don't know, he's done this to?"
Andrade is now placed on an immigration hold so he's unable to post bond on the felony charges he's now facing.
