Our First 100-Degree Day Of The Year

We hit 100° at the official weather reporting site of the Metroplex, DFW Airport:

Its the first time this year we slipped into the triple mark. It actually hit 99° SIX times at the airport before today (in the 117 years of record keeping that had never happened). We'll likely get another one on Wednesday but certainly close enough to be plenty uncomfortable:

Ever since the banner year for 100's, 2007, we've had the triple numbers fall away some. Nice trend when you can get it:

The weather pattern is going to shift this week. For the next three days the high pressure ridge continues to deliver hot and dry weather:

Then it shifts west and opens up a northwest flow aloft. This helps steer and fronts and storms in the Central Plains our way:

As meager as the rain chances look they represent our best chance of rain since July 8th, We are currently in the longest dry spell this year. For many in north Texas this round will miss their yard or pasture. The best chance is on Friday but small chances are around on Thursday and Saturday as well. It'll bring slightly cooler weather:
