Opposing Demonstrators Square Off About McKinney Pool Party Cop

MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) – Hundreds of people gathered in competing demonstrations both for and against the actions of McKinney police officer Cpl. Eric Casebolt.
Casebolt is seen on video pushing a 14-year-old girl face-first to the ground after police were called to the scene of an out-of-control pool party at Craig Ranch in McKinney.
"If you look at the video you'll see there was nothing but black kids on the side that was getting manhandled," said Allen resident Myah Turner.
The march was peaceful but not without tense moments when sides on opposite ends of the issue squared off.
"I speak for a lot of people when I say 'I'm angry' I've been angry all day," said protestor and McKinney resident Warren Barnes.
Outside groups may have led the protest but longtime McKinney residents such as Warren Barnes said they are the people who need to be heard.
"I speak for a lot of people when I say 'I'm angry' I've been angry all day," said protestor and McKinney resident Warren Barnes. "To be treated that way? I thank God it wasn't my son."
There were about a half dozen residents who held signs supporting police.
"It's absolutely ridiculous at the end of the day the children screwed up and they didn't listen to what the police officer said," according to one demonstrator.
Police kept a watchful eye on the march to make sure it didn't get out offhand like Friday's pool party.
Another protest is planned for Wednesday.
McKinney Police said the process of investigating and disciplining the officer will take several more days.
