Suspect Hurt In Officer-Involved Shooting In Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth Police responded to an officer-involved shooting at East Loop 820 and Trinity Blvd around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The suspect was rushed to the hospital via MedStar ground ambulance.

Police said the suspect, a man in his 40s, charged at officers with a knife before he was shot.

No officers were hurt.

Fort Worth Police said officers showed up to find a man walking on East Loop 820.  They shut down the highway to traffic and tried to talk to the man when he charged at them. 

Two officers shoot multiple rounds at the suspect.

His condition is unknown.

"We are checking with all the officers that responded to the call to see if they have body camera video or if some of the dash cam video of the patrol car was activated in order to see and investigate further into this incident," saod Officer Daniel Segura, Fort Worth Police spokesperson.

The southbound lanes of Loop 820 were closed from Trinity Blvd. to Randol Mill until around 9:40 p.m.
