PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - Speed limits on the Dallas North Tollway are being lowered to 60 mph now that construction work on the DNT between the President George Bush Turnpike and Sam Rayburn Tollway is underway.

The lowered, enforced speed limit is to help ensure safety for both drivers and workers for the duration of construction work that includes building an additional travel lane in each direction of the DNT from the SRT to the Bush Turnpike. Crews have already set concrete barriers, are restriping lanes to create work zones and have placed work zone signage along the main lanes.

This project is scheduled to be complete by early 2018.
