NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (1080 KRLD) - Police in North Richland Hills are looking for a man who tried robbing a bank on Tuesday afternoon.

Investigator Keith Bauman said that the man walked into the Chase Bank located along Airport Freeway, near the East Loop 820 interchange, and handed the teller a note demanding money and saying that he had a gun. However, it did not go quite as he had planned.

"Apparently, whatever caused him to become impatient. He turned around and walked off," Bauman said. The suspect left the scene in a gray Dodge Charger.

Bauman said that, despite what he put in the note, the suspect never pulled out a weapon.

The would-be robber has been described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with short hair and a scruffy beard. He was wearing black thick-framed glasses, a white baseball cap with the word "Hawaii" and pictures of hula girls on it, a dark jacket and jeans.

If you have any information about this case, call the North Richland Hills Police Department at 817-427-7000.
