Northeast Snow Storm Causing Flight Delays

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - More travel problems are expected on Wednesday after a major winter storm dumped snow on much of the eastern United States. Locations between Philadelphia and Boston took the biggest hit, as more than a foot of snow fell in some areas.

The storm forced thousands of flight cancellations on Tuesday and still more are canceled for Wednesday.

Delays at DFW International Airport are relatively minor -- only 30 percent of arrivals are delayed. However, most flights heading out to Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey and Boston have been canceled.

More than 3,500 flights were canceled on Tuesday because of the snow storm. Another 1,500 flights are still canceled for Wednesday. Anybody flying this week is urged to check their flight's status before leaving for the airport. It will likely take some time for carriers to catch up after such massive delays.

Snowfall totals in northeastern United States have reached over a foot. The storm has left New York, but is still attacking Boston. It is very cold there with wind chills in the single digits.
