CARROLLTON (CBSDFW.COM) - An arrest after a traffic stop in Carrollton could mean dozens of North Texas crimes are now solved.

Carrolton police arrested two women for drug possession on October 16. After being taken into custody, 25-year-old Skylar Paige Lampton and 33-year-old Erica Jo Johnson confessed to as many as 50 car burglaries in three different cities.

When the pair were pulled over by police last week officers found stolen property and tools commonly used to commit burglaries in the vehicle. After getting a search warrant for a house in Carrollton, police also found hundreds of stolen items -- including jewelry, tools, and some 25 wallets.

Lampton and Johnspn allegedly admitted to committing the burglaries in Carrollton, Lewisville, and Flower Mound over the past three months.

Police say burglary charges are pending against the women. Right now, investigators are also busy taking an inventory of the stolen property and attempting to reunite dozens of victims with their items.
