North Texas Teen Gets Wish To Meet Stephen Curry

FLOWER MOUND (KRLD) - A North Texas teen suffering from kidney failure gets to meet his idol Stephen Curry tonight. Nick Bacino says he had a list of things he wanted to ask the Golden State Warriors phenom, but his mind is blanking from sheer excitement.
"I'm pretty nervous, but very very excited," he says. "Especially because Oracle Arena is usually sold out since the Warriors are so good."
The 17 year old goes to Flower Mound Marcus High School, and has been a fan of Curry since his entrance into the NBA. Bacino has had kidney failure most of his life. He had his first transplant at age 5, and got to do the Make a Wish Foundation. Years later, the Marty Lyons Foundation in New York made this second opportunity possible.
"Make a Wish doesn't do second wishes," says his mom Meg. "So our social worker at the hospital contacted the Marty Lyons Foundation. We submitted an application, and they decided Nick deserved a second wish."
Bacino is back on kidney dialysis as he waits for a second transplant, but that's not getting in the way of the excitement surrounding tonight.
"Nick gets to meet Steph Curry at practice," says Meg. "Later on they'll get to have dinner at Oracle Arena. Then watch warmups from the court side, and watch the game against the Utah Jazz."
Bacino says he's got some jealous friends back here in North Texas, but he hasn't forgotten about them.
"I'll definitely try to bring them back autographs," he says.
