DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - For what is believed to be the first time ever, a heart transplant is  shared live on social media.

Surgeons at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas conducted the transplant on a North Texas woman in her 30s.  Her real name is not being released, so the hospital is referring to her as Jane.

She was put on the transplant list earlier this month, after living with cardiomyopathy since she was an infant.  She just received the call this morning letting her know a matching donor was found.

"When I got the call this morning, I was scared, crying," she said, according to a statement released by Baylor Scott & White. "My adrenaline was through the roof. My jaw was shaking."

"I feel sad for the donor's family because of the loss they'll have. It's so hard for a family to go through that. But I'm so thankful that they donated and it's a rebirth for my family," said Jane, according to a statement released by Baylor Scott & White.

Jane is married and has one teenaged child.  She has signed a consent for the details of her surgery to be shared online.

Those wishing to check out the social media-surgery can follow the #HeartTXLive on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms.

A team of six people have been live-tweeting the updates.

From the heart's arrival by helicopter to it actually being placed inside the patient's chest, folks have been able to see pictures and video of the entire process.

A team of six people have been tweeting those updates.
