DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Police said no one was injured in a Dallas officer-involved shooting where one man was taken into custody Saturday night.

Dallas police said Sunday that the shooting happened in the 8200 block of Willoughby Boulevard after officers responded to a disturbance call around 9:45 p.m.

A person involved in the disturbance, 36-year-old Bryan Gilstrap, was standing outside, in a common area of the apartment complex, with a shotgun, according to police. Civilian witnesses said someone told the first officer to arrive where he was and that he was armed.

When Gilstrap saw the officer, he turned toward the officer and pointed the shotgun at him, according to the report, and the officer fired at Gilstrap but did not hit him.

Gilstrap was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a public servant and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

The officer is on administrative leave, per department policy.

The investigation is ongoing.
