FORT WORTH (AP) - A North Texas police officer will not be prosecuted for the fatal shooting of a suspect during a struggle that left the officer stabbed.

A Tarrant County grand jury declined to indict Fort Worth police Officer Chris Jones in the Jan. 17 shooting during a traffic stop.

Investigators say the driver, 27-year-old Daniel Brumley of Fort Worth, was alone in the vehicle and scuffled with Jones before stabbing the officer in the leg. Jones opened fire, shooting Brumley multiple times.

Prosecutors say Brumley was high on methamphetamines and marijuana at the time of the incident.

The officer was no-billed on Wednesday.
