FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — A neighbor woke up to a pickup truck deep inside a home in Fort Worth.

The good news is the home was already under renovation, so there was no one inside when the truck came crashing into the corner.

Neighbors found the driver sitting on the curb shaken up, but not seriously injured. Fort Worth police said he was not arrested because he wasn't under the influence and passed a field sobriety test. He told officers he simply fell asleep.

The driver hit several parked cars before he drove through a yard and slammed into the corner of the home, knocking it off its foundation.

Todd Edson owns the home and lives next door. He said he thought a bolt of lightning had struck next door when he woke up in the middle of the night to find the truck sticking out of the home he was hoping to sell.

"It's mid-renovation, and it's time to reassess," he said. "It's the historical district, but it may be history at this point."

Edson said the driver apologized, and he has stayed in touch with him to get items out of the truck.

For now the truck has to stay in place until the insurance company can inspect the area. Edson said he expects the home will now have to be demolished.
