NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Breaking His Silence

UPDATE: Goodell Speaking Now - Watch Live

NEW YORK (CBSDFW.COM) - NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will speak about domestic violence issues at a press conference called for Friday afternoon.

CBS News will carry the press conference as a special report at 2:00pm (Central). You can listen to the press conference live on 105.3 The Fan.

Goodell has been noticeably absent from public view in the wake of several high profile domestic abuse cases, including the release of video showing Ray Rice assaulting his then-fiancee in an elevator and Adrian Peterson's grand jury indictment on child abuse charges.

Goodell talked with CBS 11's Norah O'Donell about the NFL's investigation of the Ray Rice incident, insisting that no one from the NFL had seen a copy of the elevator video showing Rice knocking his fiancee unconscious.

That exclusive interview was last Wednesday, and Goodell hasn't been seen since, even though he had been expected to attend an event that evening honoring the Carolina Panthers owner and the opening of the San Francisco 49ers brand new stadium last Sunday.
