DALLAS (CBSDFW) - Surveillance video shows a U-Haul truck driving into a South Oak Cliff gas station Tuesday night.

The man seen running out of the passenger seat is 26 year old Colby Robinson, wanted in connection with a double murder in Portland, Oregon.

He ran across the street into a neighborhood, where Desoto police confronted him.

Neighbors say they heard officers order Robinson to surrender, then heard gunshots.

Police say Robinson was killed. No officers were hurt.

Carol Garrett grew up in a house just up the street. "It was very scary. You might say it was excitement, but I'd rather not have excitement."

During the gunfire, police say a stray bullet flew down the block, hitting the windshield of a car at the Jack in the Box drive-thru. The woman inside was hurt when struck by the glass. Paramedics transported her to Methodist Hospital for treatment, but she declined an interview.

Portland police say Robinson is accused of murdering Susie and Gary Pham, and shooting Gary's brother Andrew. Police say he remains in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

The couple's 13 week-old baby girl was inside the house at the time of the shooting, but wasn't hurt. She's now being cared for by her grandparents. No word if the family's medical marijuana business was a motive.

Gwendolyn Dixon is the suspect's aunt and says she's stunned by what happened. "He had a good personality. I just honestly don't think he was a killer. if he was, I don't think it was him by himself."

Robinson is from North Texas, and was previously charged with two misdemeanors here: evading arrest and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Desoto police say they detained the driver of the U-Haul truck, and he and the vehicle are in the custody of the Dallas police department, which is investigating the officer-involved shooting.

Desoto police say during the investigation, their two officers involved are on routine paid administrative leave.
