NAVARRO COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - The Navarro County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit was involved in busting an illegal marijuana growing operation Saturday.

According to sheriff Elmer Tanner, the operation was located along FM 85 and south of the Trinity River.

The sheriff said deputies found 3,500 marijuana plants along with cocaine and methamphetamines.

The sheriff said the street value of the plants at their maturity would have been several hundred-thousand dollars.

The deputies also found the campground of the people responsible for caring for the plants along with other materials such as hoses and fertilizer.

The sheriff said no arrests have been made yet.

According to the sheriff, although this was not the largest busted growing operation, it was the biggest in four years.

Investigation is still ongoing.
