McKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - McKinney Police arrested the mother of a baby locked in a car for about 30 minutes in the Target parking lot at 2025 N. Central Expressway on Wednesday shortly before noon.

Police arrested Kimberly Rosario, 27 for abandoning and endangering a child while she was having an eye exam.  Rosario told police she forgot her baby was in the vehicle.

Police say a concerned citizen called police regarding a baby being locked in a parked car alone in the shopping center parking lot. The caller broke the window of the vehicle to gain access to the baby.

McKinney Fire Department rushed the baby to an area hospital for medical treatment. The temperature inside the vehicle was taken approximately 10 minutes after the baby was removed and measured at 130 degrees, according to McKinney Police.

McKinney Police want to remind parents in an effort to avoid forgetting children in the back seat, to place their cell phone, purse, or brief case in the back seat near the child as a reminder.
