DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Once again hundreds of North Texans are expected to gather to protest Donald Trump's victory in the 2016 presidential election.
Tonight the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN) has organized protests at Main Street Garden Park in Dallas and the Old Tarrant County Courthouse in Fort Worth.
Protesters want the popular vote to put Hillary Clinton in office, rather than the electoral vote -- which Donald Trump won. Some hope their movement will convince electoral delegates to break their pledge when they meet next month.
Dallas resident Carley Stewart said, "I think we could try to impeach him I think we could do something to abolish the Electoral College I think we just need to be doing everything we can."
But Dallas resident Patrick Connery thinks the protests are senseless. "Get over it," he said. "We didn't do this four years ago when Barack Obama got elected. We didn't do this eight years ago when Barack Obama was elected again."
Protests in Dallas began Wednesday night and continued last night. Some 300 people marched through downtown and gathered in Dealey Plaza, carrying signs and chanting obscenities about President-Elect Donald Trump. The protest was mostly peaceful, but three people were arrested.
Similar protests took place across the country, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and New York where thousands of anti-Trump activists gathered outside the Trump Tower – where the president-elect lives.
Organizers and supporters of the NGAN say they even more strengthened in their resolve to fight against the divisiveness they believe the Trump campaign has created.
Both anti-Trump protests in Dallas and Fort Worth are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
