More Flooding Expected Across Dallas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Flash flooding is expected to be a major concern in parts of Dallas on Friday after nasty storms passed through DFW on Thursday night. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the area until Friday evening, and more storms are expected throughout the weekend and into next week.
The flooding started causing problems for Dallas drivers on Thursday night.
A man was driving home from work when his minivan got stuck along the Interstate-35E service road near Royal Lane. He said that he did not realize how high the water was until he was already stuck. "I was scared at first," he said. Crews from Dallas Fire-Rescue saved him, but his vehicle had to wait until the water level dropped. "They came over here and just helped me out."
Flooding is also expected to be a problem near White Rock Creek, in the northern part of Dallas. Emergency crews were forced to shut down various roads on Thursday night due to high water concerns. Some cars got stuck in the water even before police could get to the scene.
The water had receded in most parts of the Metroplex by Friday morning.
But drivers across North Texas are not out of danger quite yet. More strong storms could arrive on Friday, with an even better chance for continued rain over the weekend. Low-lying areas will flood again quickly, especially with the ground already so saturated. It will not take long for water levels to rise and create more havoc.
