IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - In the esteemed recently-stated option of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Moore "can win games at QB. Our staff is really impressed with him.''

But which "Moore''? Kellen? Or Matt?

The Cowboys are looking at options behind Tony Romo and in addition to the NFL Draft as a distinct possibility, everybody named "Moore'' is in the mix, too.

In addition to Kellen Moore, on the roster last year and a favorite of coordinator Scott Linehan, into the picture comes Dolphins backup Matt Moore, who sources tell 105.3 The Fan will visit Valley Ranch on Thursday.

Matt Moore was with the Cowboys earlier in his career and hasn't started a regular season game since 2011. But he might fit the "bus driver'' role that didn't quite work out last year for Matt Cassel, Brandon Weeden and Kellen Moore when each of them was called upon to replace an injured Romo.

Along with Matt Moore, Eagles free-agent defensive lineman Cedric Thornton is scheduled to visit. The Cowboys have not been active in the first wave of free agency, with their only move being the retention of starting middle linebacker Rolando McClain to a one-year deal.
