Monday Morning Meltdown Week 12: Cowboys 31-Giants 28

DALLAS, Texas (105.3 THE FAN) - You never know what's going to happen with the Cowboys and Giants, but when the boys got the ball after Eli and Co. marched 93 yards in 6 minutes to go up 28-24, I felt confident that Tony Romo wouldn't let us down. And he didn't.

He was on fire for 4 TD's with a 143 rating.

It was a tale of two different teams, and one that I'm proud of. The first half was all Giants, and the Cowboys didn't look like they were ever in it. Then in the second half, the defense came out with it's hair on fire and made some huge plays, with a little luck. That Barry Church Odell Beckham flop call was lucky.

The interception off a deflection was even luckier, but sometimes you just need things to bounce your way.

Yes, Odell Beckham made a spectacular catch, but guys it was against Brandon Carr, he drug Carr off of him with his inside hand, and he practices one handed grabs all the time. I thought it was amazing and asked what the F happened, but we see amazing catches all the time. This happened to be on a huge stage in front of a massive audience. Props to the kid because he's going to be a special talent in the league. Cowboys still win.

And if you have any thoughts on how I feel about Brandon Carr, check out this blog post from last week.

Now quick turnaround for Thanksgiving against the Eagles. I hate to say this, but I don't want turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, I just want roasted Eagle.

The Rest of the NFL

Speaking of Philly, ugggghhhh, they got another win, 43-24 over Tennessee, and keep tacking them together. I haven't watched their film yet but Mark Sanchez keeps throwing interceptions. They had three touchdowns between the run and pass game, the rest of the points came from kick returns and 5 field goals from Cody Parker.

If the Cowboys can maintain the Eagles special teams, and Mark Sanchez does Mark Sanchez things, the Cowboys could force the Eagles to be one dimensional and run only which plays well into their "shorten the game, keep the score tight and have a chance to win late" mentality. Problem is, Chip Kelley doesn't like to stop throwing despite how bad Sanchez can be. I think his numbers might come on pure volume alone.

RGIII had 106 yards and no TD's against San Francisco in a 17-13 loss. Maybe Osi Umenyiora was right, what's RGIII done to earn the nickname, I'm back to calling him Bob.

Would have liked a better effort out of Arizona against Seattle, in a 19-3 loss it proves the old "Any Given Sunday" ideal as a good team in Seattle beats a reallllly good team in Arizona, why?

Execution in the red zone, and solid defense.

Seattle is a good enough team that if they play you twice, they might figure you out, and they understand a Bruce Ariens system a little more playing them frequently, but that's a heck of a matchup now.

Wish Arizona would have pushed Seattle further down in the Wild Card standings, but either way I'd rather Dallas just win the division and not have to worry about the Wild Card at all.

AJ Green is back.

Interesting that Denver had to win late against Miami, 39-36, but the Dolphins have been a far more interesting this season playing the really good offensive teams really close. Green Bay had to beat them really late on a superior couple of drives by Aaron Rodgers. If they can keep this group with a chip on shoulder mentality for more than one season, I'd fear Miami the next couple of years.

Anybody buying Mike Evans stock yet? Like actual stock in this guy. 6 TD's in 4 games, at least one in each.

Cleveland does it again with a late field goal against the Falcons 26-24. It seems like Atlanta is always losing on a late game field goal and conversely that Cleveland wins on late game antics.

The real thing we talked about on The K&C Masterpiece Atlanta is only a half game out of first place in the NFC South at 4-7! They could be tied if Baltimore beats the Saints tonight live on 105.3 The Fan. 4-7! There could legitimately be a terrible NFC South team in the playoffs with a losing record.

Bleh.

In other news, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers win again. That's 7 straight for New England and 7 of their last 8 for the Packers. Oh and a good Colts team beats the Jaguars.

Hey St. Louis lost. Bet they don't want to go back to Missouri right now….because San Diego is really nice. What were you thinking I meant?
