DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - After winning two Olympic gold medals at the summer games in 1964, Bob Hayes joined the Dallas Cowboys as the world's fastest human. "He came here, he was pretty naive about pro football," former teammate Bob Lilly remembered.
Lilly also noted, however, "He learned quickly and the changed the game of football."

With world-class speed, Hayes earned the nickname 'The Bullet.' On November 13, 1966, the Washington Redskins learned first-hand how Hayes tipped the scales in the Cowboys favor.
"I just remember that Bobby certainly had an exceptional gift," Cowboys quarterback Don Meredith recalled during a 2009 event honoring Hayes. "We were really happy to see him on our side and wearing our color jerseys."

Backed up to their own five-yard line, Meredith found Hayes blazing through the Redskins secondary. His 95-yard touchdown still stands as the longest pass play in team history. That play helped the Cowboys beat Washington by a score of 31-30, and is the 23rd greatest moment in Cowboys history.
