Moment 22: Newhouse's Super TD Pass

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - With the Dallas Cowboys leading the Denver Broncos by a score of 20-10 in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XII, Tom Landry's imagination and Robert Newhouse's right arm, combined to put the game out of reach.
Technically, the play is called: "Brown Right X, Opposite Shift, Fire Toss 38, Halfback Lead, Fullback Pass To Y." But longtime Cowboys fans simply call it perfection.
Newhouse became the first running back to complete a pass in the Super Bowl when he took a pitch from Roger Staubach and lofted a perfect 29-yard spiral to Golden Richards for a touchdown.
"That was a particular play that we worked on all week long," Hall of Famer Rayfield Wright recalled, "a kind of funny kind of play, because Newhouse was not a quarterback."

Newhouse may not have been a quarterback, but he threw a perfect pass to Richards. "We all were excited about the way that Newhouse performed on that particular play," Wright said. "All of the players jumped around Newhouse and congratulated him. It was an outstanding play."
The 29-yard touchdown buried the Broncos, sealing the Cowboys a 27-10 win. The play stands as the 22nd greatest moment in Cowboys history.
