ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – A Kennedale mother said she found pornography on a memory card she bought at an Arlington Walmart.

"I was just shocked," said Trina McWhorter. "I was upset. I was like 'Oh my God I cannot believe I'm seeing this.'"

McWhorter bought the memory card for her nine-year-old son's phone.  She is thankful she checked it first before he saw what was on the card.

When she purchased the $9 memory card, she said it was inside a security plastic cover and appeared to be brand new.

"I just assumed that if it was in Walmart's casing it had the stamp of approval on it. It's safe," she said.

However after making the discovery, she said she took a closer look and noticed a piece of tape on the corner of the packaging; leading her to believe it was returned merchandise.

Walmart told CBS 11 News it would never put a returned memory card back on the shelf. Plus, after carefully reviewing security video, Walmart said the packaging wasn't tampered.

Grateful that her son wasn't exposed to the images, McWhorter said she just wants some assurance that it won't happen again.

"No one should have to be exposed to that," she said.

Walmart offered not only a full refund but to upgrade the memory card for free.
