RICHARDSON (CBSDFW.COM)A missing former Grand Prairie High School math teacher and 16-year-old student have been found at a motel in Richardson.

It was on Thursday when police began searching for teacher Michael Perez, 25, and student Amy Botton. The pair, who investigators believe met at Grand Prairie High School, was believed to have run off together.

It isn't know how long Perez was an educator, but after it was reported the two were missing and believed to be together the Grand Prairie Independent School District issued a statement that said, in part –

"Perez has been removed from all duties and prohibited from being on district property."

Friday morning detectives with the Grand Prairie Police Department, U.S. Marshals and the Richardson Police Department found Perez and Botton at the Econo Lodge in the 2400 block of North Central Expressway in Richardson.

Botton is being interviewed by detectives and is expected to be released to the custody of her parents.

Perez is taken to the Richardson Detention Center and charged with Harboring a Runaway and police say there could be additional charges filed.
