Missing Georgia Man Found In North Texas
FLOWER MOUND (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Flower Mound said that a car crash in North Texas helped solve the case of a missing man from Georgia, leading to a family reunion hundreds of miles from his home.
Khampheng Xayfravong lives in a monastery in Walker County, Georgia. He went out to get groceries on Saturday, something that he did regularly, but never returned home. After three hours, Xayfravong's family members were informed that he had gone missing, so they began searching for the man.
Xayfravong's family had been frantically looking for him, unaware that he had traveled so far away from his home, until they received a call from the Flower Mound Police Department. The man was involved in an automobile crash in North Texas, a drive of more than 12 hours.
"I said, 'In Texas? What's he doing in Texas?' I was shocked," said Pong Xayfravong, the missing man's son. "It was surprising and joy at the same time. Been into the accident, and then the emotion went down again." But Xayfravong was not injured in that wreck.
Family members stated that Xayfravong suffers from Alzheimer's disease. They are happy that he is now safe, and very appreciative of the Flower Mound Police Department for their help in this case.
