Mesquite Police: Woman Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash

MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) — Police said a woman died in a single-vehicle crash on I-635 southbound Sunday afternoon.

Mesquite police said the vehicle went off the road, hitting a metal sign post in the 1600 block of the highway around 2:30 p.m., and 46-year-old Shannon Cole died from her injuries. Investigators say the cause of the accident is currently unknown.

Police said she was the only one in the vehicle.

This is the sixth fatality in Mesquite this year, according to the department.
