Mesquite PD Chase Vehicle To Dallas, Ends With Shooting

MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) – The Mesquite Police Department was involved in vehicle chase Sunday that ended in Dallas and with shots being fired.

Mesquite police received a call from the Mesquite Inn & Suites where a woman was being beaten by the suspect. Officers arrived at the hotel minutes later according to officials.

According to police, officers observed the suspect's vehicle and attempted to do a traffic stop, but the suspect didn't stop.

According to officials, the chase lasted seven minutes and ended at a Family Dollar at 8032 Ferguson Road in Dallas.

According to police, the suspect blocked himself in behind the store and officers began to close in on foot.

The suspect began to drive toward the officers on foot according to police.

According to officials, the officers fired their weapons as the suspect drove toward them.

The suspect was hit by one of the gunshots according to police.

According to officials, the suspect was taken to Baylor Medical in Dallas where he is in good condition.

According to police, the Mesquite officers that were involved were not injured.
