DALLAS (CBS11) - Keith Jessie will be spending the next few weeks on crutches after a bullet pierced his leg twice on Saturday night.

He and David Nelson said they were waiting for a friend in the parking lot of Northgate Village Apartments in Dallas when a man approached them.

"He walked up to the car. He came to the back window and asked what you guys are doing?" said Nelson.

According to Dallas Police, the uniformed security officer was Reagan Cody Clifton. The victims said Clifton never identified himself but told the driver to get out of the car, which he did.

"While he's trying to talk to the security guard, the security guard is throwing him against the trunk, throwing him against the trunk," said Jessie. "They're tussling, tussling, and my friend bit him so he can get away. As soon as he bit him, the security guard drew his firearm."

What happened next is unclear, but Nelson captured it on his cell phone.

On it, you can hear was sounds like multiple gunshots.

Clifton told police that Nelson tried to run over him. Nelson denies that.

Nelson and Jessie are recovering from gunshot wounds. No charges have been filed in the case, though police said they are still talking to everyone involved.

Nelson said he hopes the guard is the one who faces charges.

"I definitely don't want him on the streets, because he could do that to someone else," said Nelson.

CBS11 tried to speak with Clifton but was told, "no comment."

His employer, DFW Crime Prevention Services, said he has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
