Medical Examiner Identifies Bodies Found In House

FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - The Collin County Medical Examiner confirmed Thursday evening the two bodies found at a home on Mountain View Lane are Sumeet Dhawan, 43, and his wife Pallavi Dhawan, 39.

Police announced the Texas Rangers are now assisting in their investigation into the two deaths. Authorities aren't releasing any other details yet. A family friend said  that relatives became concerned after they didn't hear back from Sumeet Dhawan for several days. Thus, Sumeet's brother and the brother's friend went to the Dhawans' house Wednesday afternoon. The brother's friend says they quickly discovered a woman's body in the backyard pool, and called 911. After police arrived, they found a man's body inside the house.

On Thursday, detectives returned to the scene to gather evidence. Relatives of the Dhawan's are distraught and shocked by what happened.

At this same house in January 2013, police arrested Mrs. Dhawan for murder after authorities found the couple's son Arnav, 10,  dead in a bathtub. Police have said when they asked Mrs. Dhawan if she killed her son, she shook her head yes. But the couple insisted there was a misinterpretation due to a language barrier.
They said their son died from a seizure, and point to the autopsy, which indicated he died of natural causes.

The Dhawans said she was trying to preserve the body in line with their Hindu faith until Mr. Dhawan could return from an overseas business trip. A grand jury was in the process of considering indicting Mrs. Dhawan for murder. Her criminal attorney, David Finn declined an on-camera interview Thursday saying he was too distraught about what happened.
Finn said just last week, Mr. Dhawan went before the grand jury for three hours. Finn assumed it was good news since most grand jury appearances don't last that long.
But he said he is now in the process of helping the couple's relatives arrange for their bodies to be returned to India.
