DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - The Dallas Mavericks have announced that Chandler Parsons is out for the remainder of the 2015 NBA season and is exploring surgical options to address his right knee injury.

Parsons, who returned after missing the last six regular-season games with a knee injury, had 10 points and six rebounds against Houston in Game 1 of the playoff series. Parsons was forced to sit out Game 2.

Parsons has been bothered by this knee injury to varying degrees since late March, and this has been less than ideal for the Mavs.

Veteran forward Richard Jefferson has been starting in Parsons' place, with Al-Farouq Aminu playing the bulk of the backup minutes. Jefferson is strictly a spot-up shooter at this stage of his career, which puts more pressure on Rondo and Monta Ellis to create offense.

Parsons' playmaking is missed when he's not out there, and, down 2-0 in the series, it's looking like the Mavericks are going to have to play way above their heads to have any chance of coming back and winning.
