DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The NBA released the schedule for the 2016-2017 season on Thursday, and the Mavericks will open the campaign in Indiana on Wednesday, October 26. The first home game is against the rival Houston Rockets on Friday, October 28.

The Mavericks' national TV schedule includes five games on ESPN, three on TNT and five on NBA TV.

After playing three games in October and 14 in November, Dallas will play a season-high 17 games during the month of December. Nine of those games will come on the road, including matchups at Charlotte (Dec. 1), Houston (Dec. 10), Utah (Dec. 16), Portland (Dec. 21), the L.A. Clippers (Dec. 23) and Golden State (Dec. 30).

The Mavericks will face the Phoenix Suns in Mexico City on Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. CT, marking the second time Dallas has played a regular-season contest outside of the U.S. or Canada in franchise history. The Mavericks played the Rockets in Mexico City on Dec. 7, 1997, marking the first NBA game ever played in Latin America.

Dallas will play a season-long six-game homestand from March 3 through March 11. The Mavericks also have a season-long six-game road trip toward the end of the year (March 29 through April 5). Seven of Dallas' final nine games will come on the road.

The Mavericks have 15 back-to-backs this season, 11 of which come prior to the All-Star Break. In total, six back-to-backs begin at home and conclude on the road, five are road-to-home and three are on the road. Dallas will also play one home-and-home back-to-back this year against Brooklyn on March 10 and Phoenix on March 11. It will mark the first time the Mavericks will play both games of a back-to-back at home since Jan. 13 and 14, 2012 (Jan. 13 vs. Milwaukee and Jan. 14 vs. Sacramento).

The reigning world champion Cleveland Cavaliers will visit the American Airlines Center on Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. CT. The Golden State Warriors, who won an NBA-record 73 regular-season games last year, will make their only trip to Dallas on March 21.
