A few years ago a group of ladies gathered at Steven's Garden and Grill in Mansfield and discussed a unique way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. What they came up with was the, now quite famous, Pickle Queens!
For the last five years the Pickle Queens have been the hit of the annual Pickle Parade and Palooza in Mansfield.
"When we first started it, it was like yeah we're gonna have a Pickle Parade? And now Mansfield is actually designated as the Pickle Capitol of Texas" said John Pressley of the Pickle Parade.
In their signature thrift store green prom dresses and red wigs, the Pickle Queens have become rock stars in town.
"We even toured a bunch of schools yesterday and all the seconds graders love us, they are like Pickle Queens!" said founding Pickle Queen Cindy Pressley.
This year's theme is Shamrock & Roll, so festivities will include the World Famous Elvis impersonator Kraig Parker and much more.
The fun kicks off at 11 am with a Pickle Pet Parade and rocks on until around 6 pm.
JD Ryan is in quite a pickle and Around Town in Mansfield.
