ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - A man was seriously wounded after being shot and dumped into the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store in Rowlett early Wednesday. The incident was first reported at around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lakeview Parkway and Dalrock Road.

Police were called to the convenience store about an injured individual. They arrived at the scene to find a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Although he was seriously hurt, the victim was able to give authorities a description of the vehicle that dropped him off.

That vehicle was located about four miles away from the store, and police took suspects, both 19 years old, into custody for unrelated charges. It is expected that they will now also be charged with the victim's shooting. Their names have not been released.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in very serious condition. His current status is not known. He has also not yet been identified.

The shooting did not take place at the convenience store. Officials have not yet determined where the attack happened, or what the motive for the shooting might have been. An investigation into the situation is ongoing.
