Elderly man killed in Northeast Dallas parking lot, 19-year-old arrested: DPD

DALLAS – Police have arrested a suspect in a homicide that happened early Saturday on Forest Lane near I-635 in Northeast Dallas.

When they arrived on the scene just before 4 a.m., officers found 78-year-old Mohammad Taghi-Farshi fatally shot in a convenience store parking lot.

DPD said Tuesday morning it arrested 19-year-old Maurice Parker in the case on a capital murder charge. Parker was already in the Dallas County Jail on an unrelated case.

Police did not specify what led them to Parker, or any other details about the investigation.
