ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - A 43-year-old Texas man who was shot outside of the Dallas Cowboys stadium over the weekend has died.

Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office records show that Richard Sells died Wednesday night at a Fort Worth hospital.

Police said that he was shot on Sunday during a fight at a parking lot tailgate party after the Cowboys lost to the New England Patriots.

According to police in Arlington, 28-year-old Marvin Rodriguez pointed a gun at a man during a fight, but then struck Sells in the neck as the victim tried to break up another altercation.

The victim's family spoke exclusively with CBSDFW.COM on Wednesday.

Records show that Rodriguez is behind bars on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bail has been set at $200,000. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
