KAUFMAN (1080 KRLD) - A Kaufman County man is in the hospital after crashing his pickup early Monday morning, and he's blaming the accident on a pack of wild hogs.

The unidentified man told authorities he was driving on FM 429 when he suddenly found himself going head-on into a  pack of feral hogs.

The Department of Public Safety says the man swerved and rolled his truck into a field. He was trapped inside until emergency crews freed him.

He was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to recover.
