Man Arrested For NRH Road Rage Shooting

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in North Richland Hills have arrested a suspect for the road rage shooting that left a man injured late last month. Adam Alfred Cardinal of Fort Worth was taken into custody on Thursday at his home.
It was around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, when 30-year-old James Lambert of Fort Worth was traveling westbound along Northeast Loop 820 near Rufe Snow Drive.
According to police, Lambert explained that a dark-colored sedan pulled up close to the rear of his truck. The 30-year-old man tapped on his brakes to discourage the other driver from following so closely. But that driver then moved over to Lamber's left side.
Lambert gave the other driver a hand signal, and the other driver returned his frustration with a gunshot into Lambert's truck. The sedan then left from the scene.
A bullet went through the truck's door and struck Lambert in the calf. He exited from the road, called 911 and drove himself to a nearby emergency room for treatment.
An investigation into the incident led police to Cardinal. The 26-year-old man was arrested, and officers recovered the weapon that they believe was used in the shooting. Cardinal is now being held behind bars with a bond of $270,000 for the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge and a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
