SPRINGTOWN (CBSDFW.COM) – A North Texas man is out of jail despite facing a third-degree felony charge of injury to a child after he allegedly abused a little girl.

The man, identified by law enforcement as Matthew Ryan Bagwell, 24, was watching the 2-year-old while her mother was at work.

The child was sick to her stomach and crying for her mother, when according to an arrest warrant, she vomited on the living room floor. Bagwell then pushed the child to the floor, according to the warrant, and rubbed her face in her vomit, causing an abrasion on her cheek.

In addition to the abrasion, she also had a red mark on her neck and bruises on her hips, according to the CPS report.

Deputies with the Parker County Sheriff's Office began the investigation on July 13 after receiving information from officials with the Child Protective Services about a possible abuse case in Springtown.
