DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Countless passengers at DFW International Airport aren't going anywhere tonight. Most will spend the night in the secure area of the airport. American Airlines flight 65 from New York to DFW was the last one to leave JFK airport tonight.
"I feel really lucky that we got out...I feel bad for those who are stuck...I don't know how long they'll get stuck," said John Taylor.
American Airlines confirmed more than 900 cancellations Monday night, and close to 1400 more Tuesday.
All destinations from DFW to the northeast showed cancellations.
Air traffic in and around Boston, Philadelphia, Connecticut and New York was suspended until further notice.
"The snow was definitely coming in sideways, but again I think the really bad stuff is probably going to hit them right now," said Carrie Stockdale, who flew in form the east coast.
People who plan to travel to the Northeast may have to wait until Wednesday to depart.
