Living Large: The Arlington Country Estate

ARLINGTON (CBS 11 NEWS) - When you think of the serenity of country living, the city bustle of Arlington does not usually come to mind. But in the middle of the city, on a nearly two-acre wooded lot, there sits a home with the feel of a country estate.

Built in 2006, the owners put a lot of their personal touches into the décor, said realtor Roxann Taylor.

"He did a lot of the carpentry and the trim work himself," Taylor says of one of the owners.

The $2 million home has a state of the art media room which opens out into a family room. "It has a bar, TV screen and a regulation size shuffle board in it," Taylor told CBS 11.

The 9,600-square-foot home has five bedrooms, including a master bath almost as big as the master bedroom. "It has a full makeup and sink area for the lady, a separate vanity for the man and a spa right in the back."

A typical home would have two walk-in closets, but this home has three huge ones. "From the minute you walk in, you have the mirrors to see how you look today," says Taylor.

The home also has a fully functional gym, which can be converted to another bedroom.

The owners have built a luxurious retreat outside. The backyard has a covered outdoor kitchen, pool and spa which opens up to a large wooded lot. "It's very open, and so the breezes come through, Taylor says, adding: " It's very nice, looking out at your acreage and gazing at those beautiful 100-year-old oak trees."

And, that's Living Large!
