Lewisville Lake Nears 100-Year Flood Mark

DENTON COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) — Lewisville Lake inched Saturday towards its 100-year flood mark after another overnight rain storm along with additional water flowing into the lake from upstream.
The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers closed the lake to boaters out of concern large wakes would flood nearby homes.

"If it's a one foot wave, I could see it coming up and into my home," said Sukhu George who lives on Oakbrook Drive in Lewisville.
The City of Lewisville delivered sandbags to more than two dozen residents Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Denton County Transportation Authority suspended train service from downtown Denton to Trinity Mills until Monday due to flooding. The DCTA provided bus service in lieu of the train service.
Lewisville Lake levels were at 536.92 feet. The 100 year flood mark is 537 feet.
