DENTON COUNTY- A 12-year-old Lewisville boy, killed last week in a crash, was honored by his football team Saturday.

The Lewisville Titans wore green socks for their teammate and friend Eric Lozano.

A week ago a car backing out of a driveway in a Lewisville mobile home park struck and killed the 12-year-old.

A 16-year-old girl was behind the wheel. According to investigators, her father was teaching her to drive.

Lozano's parents said they know it was an accident but are upset with what happened in the moments after their son was hit.

"He never even checked on my son," said Lozano's mother Nichole Tamayo referring to the man who was teaching his daughter to drive. "It's not going to bring him back but the fact that the man wasn't there consoling my child until I could make it around the corner hurts. It hurts a lot."

The Lewisville Police Department said it is still reviewing the case.

"The parents need to be held accountable for what happened to my son," Jason Lozano, Eric's father, said.

CBS11 made several attempts to contact the man and his teenage daughter.
