Late Rally Lifts Idaho Over North Texas 65-63

DENTON (AP) - Perrion Callandret hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 1:27 remaining and Idaho beat North Texas 65-63 Monday night at the Mean Green Showcase.

Victor Sanders and Ty Egbert each scored 14 points and Callandret scored 13, including 3 for 6 rom 3-point range.

Tied at 32 at the half, North Texas regained the lead 51-46 at the midway mark after DeAndre Harris hit a 3 to kick off a 14-2 run. Nahshon George pulled Idaho within 63-61 with a jumper, then Callandret hit the 3. Egbert iced the game with two free throws.

Idaho (3-1) made 22 of 36 free throws, but allowed 23 points on 17 turnovers and was outscored 22-18 in the paint.

J-Mychal Reese scored 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting and Jeremy Combs added 14 and grabbed 14 rebounds for North Texas (2-1). Deckie Johnson scored 13, Harris added 10 and Ricky Brice Jr. had three blocks.
