Pair Surrenders Following SWAT Response Outside Of West Dallas Hotel

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A standoff outside of a West Dallas hotel ended without incident on Feb. 11 when SWAT units responded after a pair refused to surrender to US Marshals.

Dallas Police officers responded to the 2100 block of N. Cockrell Hill Road to assist the US Marshals. The Marshals were at the Fairfield Suites on an unrelated incident when the heard a couple arguing inside of a vehicle.

The woman exited the vehicle and began running away. The man then exited and pointed a handgun in the woman's direction, firing one shot.

The US Marshals attempted to engage with the man, who turned around with the gun still in hand. The woman ran back towards him to prevent officers from engaging with the suspect.

Both the suspect and the woman then ran into a vacant open field. US Marshals gave loud verbal commands to the couple to surrender, but both refused.

SWAT was notified and the suspect and woman surrendered without incident.
