DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Some parents in Dallas' Lake Highlands are sounding the alarm. Twice in the last week, young girls say men, who appeared to be up to no good, approached them.
Fliers have been posted around Lake Highlands and calls were placed Wednesday warning parents with students at the junior high about the incidents.
Two of the young victims said the suspicious person left them frightened.
Thirteen-year-old Sidney said, "As a child, I've never experienced that before." Her neighbor, 13-year-old Takayla agreed saying, "It felt horrible. Like it felt - that was one of the worst moments I ever had."
Both girls say a stranger in a car approached them near Lake Highlands Junior High.
Takayla was walking home Saturday when she saw the man stopped on the road. She remembers that, "He kind of whistled at me and said, 'come here.'"
She said she ignored the man and when he called her again she ran away.
Another incident happened on Monday when Sydney and her friend Morgan were walking home. They say a man pulled over and rolled down his window.
Sydney said," His hand movement… like he was going down toward his pants."
Mom Heather Sandy thinks the intent of the person is pretty clear. "It's open for perception to what he was doing, but I think I know what he was doing."
Sandy was so alarmed that she said she put up more than 100 of the warning fliers.
Father Raymond Simms said, "It's scary 'cause I know a lot of kids walk home [from school] everyday." He said that after seeing his daughter's face he's changing his daily routine. "Today I was at the bus stop waiting for them to get out. I'm gonna be there from here on out. I'll walk with them."
It's unclear if the same man approached the girls.
Takayla's family says she has given a statement to police, but at this point officers say they have no evidence of a crime.
